How to be more productive.

“I’ll just flip channels on TV and hopefully I’ll stumble upon a good show”
“Flipping channels on TV are for idiots, so I’m just gonna open a tab for every single link that I spot on every single news website I can open and read the first two lines from each one.”

“I've only been awake 2 hours, but I’m sleepy again so I’ll just doze off on this couch”
“I can’t sleep because I wasted all night watching movies so I’ll just stay awake and make a well structured, detailed work-schedule for the morning. Then wake up at 5 pm.”

“Hey, you say fatty, I say curvy.” *eats cookie*
“I believe in healthy, home-cooked meals. So I’ll eat all the food in this ginormous pan and work out one month later.”

“Damn it! I completely forgot about my final exam tomorrow.”
“I take my responsibilities seriously and ‘forgetting’ is a stupid excuse. So I’ll write down all the things I've planned to do with multi-colored markers on my big fancy whiteboard and wait till I require acetone to erase a task that I successfully completed.”

“Ugh, I have nothing to do in my life”
“Gosh, there’s so much to do and so little time! I can’t do it.”

If you can relate your mind set to either one (or both) of the characteristic ones I've ever so creatively described above, then your search for a solution on Google has directed you to the right place. This is, of course, assuming that you were searching for a solution in the first place.

But, hold on. Not sure if you and I are talking about the same problem? Allow me to describe mine.

I have trouble being productive.
I can’t remember the last time I fulfilled a task one hundred per cent (unless you count emptying my plate, which, rest-assured, was completed one-thousand per cent *wink*). When I’ve spent a sufficient amount of time in my lazy state, I realize I have to prevent my mind from rotting, so I do something like open up a study book, read the introductory paragraph and shut the book close satisfied by my effort. On the other end of the spectrum, when I’m equipped with a fully energized mind-set, I channel nearly all my energy into preparing a long list of ideas and plans to be executed and then worry about not having enough time to do them.  And at the end of the day, I accomplish absolutely nothing, but an empty feeling because I failed to be productive.

At this point, I’d like to mention that this behavior of mine is NOT constant. I would never have achieved anything in life if that’s how I used my days. So, if you’re the type of person who half-asses (or completely neglects) your plans almost every time, then do not comfort yourself by knowing that we share the same habits OCCASIONALLY.

Nevertheless, it is essential that we both get rid of this unproductive, unsatisfactory, anxiety-causing habit of ours. So, how can I be more productive, you ask? Well, I could provide you with an extensive list of tips and solutions, but since you’re an unproductive junkie, you probably aren't going to make full use of it anyway. However, I think we’re all capable of utilizing just one simple advice, aren't we? (If you’re not, you should really reconsider your life-choices.) So, here it is: Finish what you start.

Yes, I do realize that needs elaboration.

What I’m saying is we often bail on our well-made plans because we start off clumsily. Now, regardless of whether or not you use the planner on your phone (or a little notebook if you’re old-school like me) you’re still planning your schedule in your head. So, in your transitory determined state, you might have thought yourself “Okay, I’m going to start off like this ‘cause this is what I feel is most doable at the moment…” So you begin; you’re getting warmed up; and JUST when you were getting in the mood, you bail. Why? Why didn't you complete your warm-up session? It was such an easy task, but you just couldn't complete it, could you? Why? Because you just got a text? Because you had to pee? Because you were hungry? (Or something along those lines; forgive me for generalizing.)  Let’s face it. Those are all just excuses no matter how reasonable you might think they are. And before you know it, you've fallen far behind in your schedule so you ditch the whole thing and go make a snack (or order one.)

So commendable.

Let’s try and imagine an alternate scenario now, shall we? Imagine that you've successfully completed that beginner’s task. You feel good about it. Now you want to do more of it. So you finish the second step of your plan. And then the third. Maybe now you need a break. So you grant yourself one and simultaneously adjust your plan so as to enjoy your little break time (I prefer to eat/sleep or both). Now, if you’re still determined you’ll finish part 1 of your newly revised plan and the process continues till you finish the task as a whole.

See how starting off on the wrong/right foot governs your attitude towards completing a task? Sticking to your word and successfully implementing your little plans can greatly motivate you to go the whole nine yards. Believe me, the after-feeling is heartwarming. So I would suggest that you plan out small portions of your work and FINISH THEM NO MATTER WHAT  HAPPENS to maintain that resolute outlook on your goal. Staying loyal to just this one principle can help you accomplish more than what you thought you could. This kind of mind-frame also encourages handling a fewer number of tasks and doing them well rather than hurrying up to finish multiple jobs in hopes of doing something useful. I’m a firm advocate of doing something the best I can possibly do; like my life depends on it. So, give your 100% into anything and everything that you take up, however insignificant you might think it is (like cleaning your room). Finishing a task and finishing it well is a habit. And it’s your decision to develop that habit or not.

As far as motivation and planning for a task goes, I believe that everyone has their own reasons and challenges so you should be able to formulate one that’s just right for yourself. If not, leave a comment and I’ll write a whole ‘nother article dedicated to it :)

So, there’s my advice. Do let us know if this article has helped you (after experimenting with it for a week or so, duh).

Remember: finish what you start.

Why reading books based on episodes of TV series is a bad idea

Hello people of the world! Good to have you here!

Just yesterday, since I had nothing productive to do, and every single drop of blood in my body was pleading with me to read a book, I grabbed the book closest to me and began to read. Usually, I don't choose what to read, because the act of reading itself is highly pleasurable to me. It's not that I fail to find faults with books, I do, but I also make it a point to find a reason to complete a book. And usually, finding that one reason is not difficult, UNTIL......

I just decided to go ahead and read this book, although the cover looked too fancy and immature for my taste, but as they say, "Don't judge a book by its cover", I opened it. I remember that it was a Hannah Montana book ( I know, don't roll your eyes at me. Boredom led me to this offensive deed). I don't remember the name of the episode it was based on though, which is proof enough that I regret that half hour of my life that I wasted on the book.

Firstly, the book had medium-sized font and was about 50 pages, so you can make a wild guess about the amount of matter present in the book. What made it worse was that the whole book was basically a written update on the episode. You might as well have watched the episode which would have at the least managed to get a few laughs out of you. The book copied all the matter in the episode, not adding anything of its own, and hence, turning out to be highly vague and ineffective.

A good book, however small, should be relatable, have a wee bit of emotions, be descriptive and most importantly, be able to have an impact on the reader. This book did manage to have an impact on me, I was itching to throw it away. But I still kept reading, waiting for that one reason that would help me stop regretting reading this book.

Coming to imagination, it had no scope for it because it practically dictated everything in the episode. The book is entirely made up of dialogues, with very little to describe the scene or the character of the people involved. The reader should be able to imagine the scene live, right in front of his/her eyes, but here, only dialogues were mentioned, trying to get you to laugh, but failing miserably, because DUH, your imagination has gone for a toss and taken away your funny bone with it.

Next, It kept changing scenes randomly, so the reader does not even have the time to connect with the character.

And without much of an explanation, it comes to the ending scene, the scene where the message comes out. I vaguely remember that the whole point of the book was to bring forward a message, that" looks do not matter". Now, if the message was addressed with efficiency, the time wasted on the book would probably be worth it, but here's the spoiler, IT'S NOT. The process of getting to the highly awaited message was so random, that the message itself feels meaningless.

And you have to admit, sheepishly, that a written play would have been far better than this piece of literature, because there, at least the scene is described effectively, telling you where the props are kept and when someone coughs, so your imagination is taken care of.

To all the authors who are jobless enough to write a book based on a movie or TV series, please DON'T. You're wasting your talent and time, and getting into a fruitless war with us.

Oh God! -_- Give me a movie based on a book any day!

Summer Must-Haves - Part 2

Hello beautiful people, beasts & Aliens! :D Here's the second installment to my series, Summer Must-Haves, where I talk about things you MUST NOT miss out on this summer (the title's pretty descriptive, right?!!) This time, I'm going to write about the colors for summer!

I've personally decided to brighten up my wardrobe for the summer. I have already had a shopping spree, and bought many dresses, skirts.. (Let's save that for another article, shall we?! ) Anyway, so summer is all about liveliness and fun, right?! So, let your clothes speak for you this summer through bubbly & pretty colors! :)

Pastel Green
If you don't already own this color, trust me, your wardrobe is crying out at your lack of understanding it's needs!
This beautiful color, according to me, screams out fun, bubbliness & pretti-ness (is that a word?) with just the right hint of elegance! In fact, my mom is CRAZZAAAY about this color! So, girls, you need to get this color in your wardrobe ASAP!

Bubble Gum Pink
Okay, look at this color, & tell me you don't want it. Just tell me, girls, &
I will  eat my hat!  I mean, this color deserves to be in your
wardrobe. It's flirty, adorable & everything summer promises to be!
And, don't we all want to let our inner girly out free?! Well, this color is definitely
a summer must have, if you ask me!

Electric Blue
I'm sure everyone owns this color. If you don't, girlfriend, you're committing a fashion crime! I mean, every single brand, every single store includes this color in their summer collection! And, it rightfully belongs there! This vibrant color speaks of youth, beauty & elegance without over-doing it! The sheer simplicity yet gorgeousness of this color didn't let me walk away from it! So, you better run and get one for yourself, too!

Yellow
Some might criticise this color as being too bright, but, if you ask me, why not?! I mean, isn't summer meant to be all about bright colors? And trust me, girls, this color looks absolutely fantabulous once you wear it! Don't go for brighter shades, though. So, brighten up some lonely heart's day this summer with this beautiful color!

I hope you all enjoyed this article! Hope it makes dressing up this summer for all those beach/pool side parties, dates, night outs or any other event a lot easier, but I know that's not possible, is it?! ;)

The complete guide to killing head lice

Hello wonderful people of the world!

Well, there was this horrible problem that I faced about two years back, the problem of lice. No matter how hard I tried, I could not get rid of them. I felt disgustingly unclean and unhygienic. And that's what led me to finding out different methods of getting rid of head lice. And since I am an extremely kind and helpful person :P , I'd like to share them with you.

So here we go.

1) Applying Mayonnaise on your head.
Mayonnaise has high viscosity and hence, leaves very few pores from which the lice can actually  escape making it an effective material for getting rid of lice. The trick is to part your hair and make sure that you apply the mayo on every single strand. Then, wrap your head with a plastic wrap tightly, so as to prevent air from entering the wrap. Leave it on for 2 hours, and then wash your head with warm water. Now here's the catch. Mayo is not easily removed. It sticks to your head like glue, so if you have thick hair, then you need to apply oil or a conditioner and rinse your hair. Repeat the process till the mayo is completely removed. DO NOT USE SHAMPOO to get the mayo off, because it cooks the eggs and makes them hard to remove. If you do not want to use harsh chemicals on your head, you must give this a try.

2) Vinegar.
It's a very good method to get rid of lice. The vinegar needs to be diluted and used with caution, since it can damage the scalp. Drench every part of your scalp with a  mixture of a cup of vinegar with a cup of mineral oil. Use a shower cap to cover your head overnight. Shampoo your head in the morning. Use a nit comb to remove the lice. You can also mix 1 cup of vinegar with 1 cup of water. Drench your head with the mixture and rinse it with warm water. Use a lice comb to remove the lice. These processes need to be repeated ever night/day till the lice are gone. It is a tedious process, though.

3) Nit comb.
An effective method if you part your hair properly and make sure to comb it thoroughly. All you need to do is apply coconut oil all over your head and comb it with a nit comb. You need to repeat this process till you're sure that the lice have completely disappeared. This method is the best way to save your hair from chemical  damage while removing the lice. But, it a very tedious method, which requires a lot of time.

The next method is the one I stumbled across by chance. I was in that phase in which I loved straightening my head and did it everyday, not realizing that it helped me in more ways than one.

4) Straightening/ Curling. This should only be done by people who have thick hair, and do not fear hair loss. If you are in the habit of straightening your hair, you will know that it damages your hair. Even if you do straighten your hair to kill the lice, make sure to oil it regularly, to reduce the damage. The trick is to know how to straighten your hair properly. The heat from the straightener kills the eggs and the lice. All you need to do after you straighten your hair is get rid of the dead lice with a nit comb. Also, shampoo your hair well.

THE METHOD THAT WORKED BEST FOR ME:
Although I'm aware of the fact that straightening damages the hair, I still consider this the best way because:  It's an  easy method, makes me look pretty :P and helps to get rid of the pesky lice in no time. If done effectively, it takes only three sessions of straightening to clean your head.

I really hope this helps, because lice damages your scalp, increases hair loss and makes you feel bad about yourself.  So go ahead and kill them before they declare war on your head.

Stay pretty   :)

Summer Must-Haves - Part 1

Hello beautiful people, beasts & Aliens! :D As this is my first blog (YAYIIEEE!! :D ), I thought I should do something different. So, I've decided to write a series, over a few days, about a number of things you must own for this summer.
Today, I'll mention some make-up products you have to own! Hope you all like, no love it :)

The Urban Decay Naked Palette

If you're a make-up lover, like me, you've definitely at least heard of this palette. This beauty is a must have, & as it wasn't available where I live until recently, I had mine shipped to me! It is the most versatile palette I have come across, comprising 12 gorgeous neutrals, . From natural to chic to classy to party to sultry, you can use this palette to create any look! In fact, I used this palette for every event of my brother's wedding, and the results were amazing! The brush along with is really good, too & can be used for many different application techniques. Icing on the cake, it comes with an amazing lip gloss too! It's a li'l expensive, but definitely worth it!! For all those beach-side parties, night out with the girls, night clubs, datenights & any other event this summer, this baby is your saviour! :D

Bourjois Paris "Cheeky Series"

It's not actually a series, but they are best together. Okay, I'll admit it, that's the worst name I could've come up with, but these 3 products are too good to miss out on! The bronzer is of a beautiful shade of chocolate-y brown with the slightest shimmer in it & is a must have for the summer, suitable for any skin tone! (Mind you. It smells & looks like chocolate, too :P ) The pretty pink blusher is perfect for that natural rosy cheek color we all want, but I'd recommend it for fair to medium skin tones. And last, but definitely not the least, the highlighter can be used for the brow bones, nose, forehead and any other highpoint of the face. Combine all three and you have the perfect look for any occasion!  You can use them individually, too. They're very lightweight & hardly noticeable. Wait.. There's more! They may look less in quantity, but they last for very long! I've been using mine for almost a year now, but they're not over even halfway yet! I'm sure you'll love them, & will be absolutely perfect for all those plans this summer!

So, girls, if a make-up shopping day is coming up (IK I have one right around the corner ;) ), You better check out the above mentioned products!

What are some of the make-up items not to be missed out on this summer, according to you? Don't forget to let me know by leaving in a comment below! :)

Determination- How to achieve it?

Determination ain't anyone's cup of tea, it can only be achieved by smart ones like me! (Hey, it rhymes!! Woo hoo, I'm a poet..See, THIS is determination,NOT!)
Ok, now let's get down to business. How do I know what determination is and how to achieve it? My answer to that is : I learnt it the hard way. I failed once or twice, but that was when I wasn't trying. And trust me, It HURTS when you fail. I decided that I don't care anymore. I'm not going to try harder to achieve anything because it's not worth it! But then, (THANK GOD) I realised that I wasn't trying in the first place! What's wrong with us is that we think we're trying, but OUR TRY is worth nothing compared to people who actually achieve success! It takes sacrifices, troubles and tribulations to finally achieve success!
When I finally did realise, I tried to figure out how I could do it, because at that moment, it seemed impossible. So now, I'm going to share my method of achieving determination, so that those of you who haven't already achieved it or those who have given up know that they aren't the only ones!! Because once you fail, you feel as if you are stupid and lack everything those who could achieve it have. But that's not true. EVERYONE CAN DO IT! EVERYONE WHO IS DETERMINED ENOUGH! Yes, there are exceptionally talented people out
there who appear to do lots of things with ease, but may be there are a lot of things they aren't good at that you don't know about. Take for instance, ME!! I can do MOST things with ease(tee hee), but when it comes to drawing, a lot of people are better at it than me! And it's not because I can't do it! If I try, I KNOW I can, I just don't have enough time! And that's what matters. That you have enough confidence in yourself and KNOW that you can do it!

So my tips on achieving determination are:

1)  Realise what you lack in. By this, I mean look at yourself and ask yourself whether you actually have it in you. If you don't, well, you can develop it.

2) Observe all those people who you think are great at what you want to be good at, find out what they do and then, see if you can inculcate a few of their habits in your life.

3) Think about what you are doing to achieve it, if you cannot find anything in yourself which proves that you are trying, NO PROBLEM, IT'S NEVER TOO LATE!

4) Make a list. Trust me, this is a great way to achieve determination. It gives you the starting point, and gives you an aim. While making that list, put in the stuff you want to improve in. You will notice yourself getting excited.

5) Think about how you can make time for it, such that you can do other stuff as well. You might want to add the amount of time in which you'd like to complete something in that list (mentioned in the previous point). If you do complete it, well and good. If you don't, you'd feel guilty which is a proof that you're on the way to success.

6) You need to reduce the time you take for other stuff, example: television, parties, etc. (Don't cut down all time, just as much as you possibly can, you can go slow in the first, and faster later)

7) Stick to your time limit. That's most important. Try not to delay your work. The amount of time in which a human being can concentrate the most is about 20-30 minutes from when they start. Give yourself a break after that much of time, maybe about 5-10 minutes. Relax.(This break can be seen as a reward for doing your work with perfect concentration before the break). You need to realize that you will have to go back to the work that you left off after your break.

7) Reward yourself. Sit down and analyse how much you've done and then think about how you can reward yourself. This makes you think that it's not too difficult to go on the right way.

8) DON'T lose hope if you fail a few times, because all these failures will give you all the more happiness when you finally achieve your goal. Also, these failures make you even more impatient to achieve it. You might feel devastated for a few hours, but then, think rationally and analyse yourself. Nobody's perfect. You might make mistakes, but if you've been following the previous rules, then those mistakes will be far lesser than what you've started off with.

9) Believe in yourself. Believe that you can achieve it!

10) Whenever your confidence level goes low, think about how you would feel when :
     a) You achieve your goal
     b) When you don't achieve your goal
After thinking about how it would be to achieve your goal, If you feel extremely excited and want to achieve your goal sincerely, YOU HAVE ACHIEVED DETERMINATION.
After thinking about how it would be if you could never achieve your goal, If you feel really annoyed and angry, if you feel like you desperately need to achieve your goal, THERE YOU GO!!

11) NO ONE can hold on to the determination they achieve for too long. Disappointments, other work, everyday habits may come in the way. But if you feel as though you've lost that determination that you started off with, try to make a fresh start. Begin with writing down, making a list. Keep that list in hand.

In my tips, I've also mentioned how to achieve your goal, not just how to achieve determination, BECAUSE GOAL AND DETERMNATION go hand in hand!

And once you've achieved determination, you don't ever need to fear losing confidence in yourself! Determination is something which gifts you a lot of good qualities along with achieving your goal.

I honestly hope it helped! If you have any questions, feel free to comment below or email us at : flammablefluid96@gmail.com

The hum of insects - GOOD OR WHAT?!!

Are there insects hanging around your locality? Do they creep you out?The most common human response towards insects is revulsion combined with fear. Is it possible that the very creatures that horrify and annoy us can ever seem pleasant?
Read on......

I recently read a delightful essay by Robert Lynd who speaks on the general view of humans towards insects... You guys must already be feeling bored and might want to close this page. I felt the same way when I read the introduction of this essay by someone else..but when they say "Don't judge a book by it's cover", they mean it!!
I felt it was yet another essay on how we should love nature, and yeah, all that is fine,... but HELLO, we're extremely busy and don't want a bunch of people who like wasting their time looking at large, rugged brown tree trunks and admiring them to advise us on how we should love our surroundings!
But this essay came as a total surprise and I was taken aback.

It's a very humorous and fun essay which criticizes humans and insects alike. The approach towards a topic that would make people want to sleep is really unique and makes you want to read all of it once you've read the very first line.
It is definitely a relatable essay which expresses how nature is capable of delighting us as well as irritating us, depending on the surroundings.
It describes the earth as a 'partially civilized planet' which is quite true. We humans claim to be civilized but aren't we the ones doing the most uncivilized deeds among all the other living things?

The writing is satirical and intelligent. It's humour makes it a wonderful read, but at the same time, it sticks to it's motive of enlightening us on how nature is a part of us, all we need to do is look at it in that way! (Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, see?)

The best thing about the author is that he realizes very well that we cannot always spend time in nature, all he wants us to do is appreciate the moments which we get to spend outside being a part of nature and enjoying it's various resources.

The essay makes us realize that every sound of nature reminds us 'selfish' humans about our childhood, about our innocence, and most importantly, about US. In the midst of our busy lives, it helps us relate nature to ourselves, as we are a part of life, a part of the uniqueness and the intricate beauty of life.
Think about it, a living human being has so many processes going about inside him/her. All these processes are intensively linked to each other and the mechanism of these 'flawless' processes make us wonder at the infinite wisdom behind our creation, it makes us 'intelligent' humans appreciate all the different and unique forms of life created without "OUR HELP", so we can't even take credit for it! And yet, we utilize all these resources, sometimes "exploit them" without any appreciation. And THAT'S SAD!

The essay is funny, realistic, relatable, emotional and TOTALLY READ-WORTHY!

You don't wanna skip it thinking it's too long, because it might just take five minutes ( very entertaining five minutes, to be more precise).

If you still aren't convinced, maybe you should read it and find out for yourself!
Honestly, if you don't read it, you would be deprived of some awesome-ness!

So here we go..
The hum of insects - Robert Lynd

Hope you like it! Do tell me how it was!!!!!

Is first impression TRULY the best impression?

I'm sure many people will have different views on this topic, but a blog is about one's own opinions (DUH), so I'm going to be writing about what I personally think. I'm also pretty sure that I'm right (tee hee)...

And my answer to 'Is first impression truly the best impression?' is NO.

I have reasons of my own to defend my answer which will explain as to why I thinks so.

Firstly, the first impression that we have of a person could be anytime, maybe when the person is in a really awkward situation, bad mood, maybe when they're really mad or maybe when they're really sad. Basically, they're in situations where they might not be on their best behavior. And it's pathetic judging someone when he/she is not what he/she is like usually... What if someone did that to you?

Secondly, on a first meeting, people are not very likely to give away what they actually are like.

When you think about it, would you really judge a person based on your first impression about them even after you see  how different he/she is in your next meetings with them? I don't think so.

Thirdly, what if the person changed after the first time you met him/her? The person might have become better/worse, maybe due to some experiences which he/she had. It would seem really stupid of us to consider first impressions in those cases.

Another reason why I don't think first impressions work is because one might end up hurting someone because of them. Sometimes, we do hurt people unintentionally. We might blurt out what our first impression on someone is ( by mistake, of course) and if the person in question gets to know about it, he/she might get really hurt. And we would seem like the bad ones if the person isn't actually like that!!

A lot of people who did not know me well enough and had formed an opinion about me thought I was extremely rude and had loads of attitude. But actually, I'm just not comfortable meeting new people. But now, those very people are my closest buddies.

Ironically, people whom I liked and trusted from the very beginning turned out to be the bad ones, those who might adore you when you're around and badmouth you in public. All this did hurt me a lot but now I'm over it and usually don't make opinions on people very soon.

When I meet someone I don't know, I usually don't have any impression about them, maybe because I think that I'm never going to meet them, or because I don't have the time to form any opinions about them in my mind, and sometimes just because I don't want to repeat my mistakes. Sometimes, in first meetings, when I've spent enough time with the person that I can judge him/her, I do form opinions (it's human nature), but I also tell myself that the person might be completely different from what I'm thinking. In this way, I'm free of guilt.

Yes, there might be times when first impressions count, maybe when you're giving an interview and need to be as amiable as possible. And I'd totally encourage you to do that. But in situations where all this isn't important, and you weren't your usual self, don't worry! Because:

1) You might not meet those people ever again, so WHO CARES! They're very likely to forget you!(If that's what worries you)

2) You might meet them enough times to prove that you're actually a whole lot better than what they thought.
3) They might still have the same impression of you after a lot of meetings, but those sort of people aren't WORTH IT!

You might also want to be careful while judging people the first time you meet them, because you don't want someone to do the same thing with you!

Thank you for reading! HIGHLY APPRECIATED!!

A bob : Advantages and Disadvantages

Well, I recently got a bob cut and now, that I'm used to it , I know pretty well about it's advantages and disadvantages.

I have thick, straight hair so I was really apprehensive about getting a bob, because I've seen most people who have a bob with really fine hair. Anyway, that did not discourage me so much so as  to not want to get myself a bob. I just convinced myself and my hairstylist was also really encouraging. So, I decided to go for it. And, I have to admit, I made the right decision.

My bob is a traditional box bob. I wasn't ready to brave the asymmetric or A-line bob. I got it cut really short, because it's starting to heat up in the region I live in, and I just wanted a short hair cut.

Firstly, I'd like to talk about the disadvantages of getting a bob cut, which are very few in number:

1)  You cannot braid, wear a bun, or tie it up into a long ponytail.
2) You don't have long hair unless you buy extensions or a wig. And sometimes, you just need to wear hair styles which suit long hair.
3) It's really awkward going all short after having your hair long.

But, don't let that discourage you from getting it cut!!!!! Because the advantages are a lot more important, and aren't we all optimists???

So, now I would like to go about the advantages of getting a bob cut, which are :

1) It's a really low- maintenance hairstyle. All you might have to do is probably curl it inwards from the bottom because completely straight hair DOES NOT WORK for a bob.A bob is the most manageable hairstyle, except for maybe a pixie cut.
2) You CAN let it down! Since it's a really short haircut, you don't need to worry about heat, sweat, etc which makes most people tie it up.
3) You can wear really cute hair clips, something which you don't usually use for most of your other hair styles.
4) It's a really elegant hairstyle for work, a super cool one for wearing outside, and a great one for school.
5) It makes you feel a whole lot comfortable, because you don't need to keep fixing you hair, tying it up, re-braiding it, bobby- pinning it, etc.
6) Nowadays, loads of cool hairstyles have come up for people who go for a bob, so it's not like you're never styling your hair.
7) A bob cut is a style statement itself. So you DO NOT require to style your hair, but you can if you want to.
8) You can wair extensions if you want to wear hair style in long hair, although I don't do that because I'm just too comfortable with wearing my own hair and I love my short hair.
9) It'll grow , whereas long hair can NEVER become short unless you cut it! So you can never wear short hair if you have your hair long!

I'm also putting up a video from a channel on Youtube so that you can see the various ways with which you can style a bob!

Hope you liked it!

Asking and Answering stupid questions : Escape strategy.

Sometimes I wonder how to reply to amazingly stupid questions. As the person awaits an answer, I take to marvel at the extreme stupidity of the person who asked me the question. Usually, I fail to formulate an answer with the right combination of words so as to level with the genius that I face, so I stay silent. I then decide to take refuge in a simple action - just pat them on the shoulder out of pity with a sad expression on my face - which says it all.

But usually, I just stay silent because :
 1) I do not want to hurt them
 2) I cannot reply out of shock
 3)  I do not know how to answer the question, because in most cases , the person is extremely stupid and I don't know how to explain the answer to the person.
So all I do is stare at them with widely opened (beautiful) eyes and then turn away and pretend not to understand.

The funny thing is that I adopt the same technique when I'm on the other side of the table. In situations where I know I'm completely wrong and there is no way I can defend my action (like when I lose an important document that I'm supposed to hand in to my teacher), I just give the person/persons a wide smile (my best smile) so that they get confused by my amazing smile, their heart melts and all they want to do is give me a great big hug. But they don't want to  in most cases even though I intend for them to. They're just extremely taken aback by my audacity of smiling hard when I've made a big mistake, they get confused and wonder as to why I'm smiling and forget the matter for a few minutes,  and that's when the situation is in my hands. On rare occasions, however, I do give a small explanation and stare at them brightly, and then follow it up with a smile, which gives me the same results. Which works just  well too.

According to me, every person should experiment with this, because most NORMAL human beings fall into such situations.

Small Thought - Vast Meaning

Well, don't most of us think that what we believe ourselves to be is what we are in reality? Take a look at this picture and think twice! I say this from experience. I, too, have always held the belief that if I, and only I, am convinced of my good nature, it will project itself in my personality by default.
But, here's the thing. If I just believe that I am genuinely nice to people and couldn't do any better to benefit them, it will ONLY lead me to being the way I am (no chance of improvement!). I might regard myself as an honest, forthright and a determined human being, but am I doing something about it? Maybe. But that hardly fills a tiny fraction of the glass. I try and go ahead to improve myself and my actions with the self-delusion that I'm already a pretty good person; I mean, look at that girl! At least I'm not as morally/intellectually/socially low-graded as her. And now I think to myself, who am I to judge? There's probably somebody else forming the exact same opinion about me!
So what do I do? I first admit to myself that I've got a long way to go before I can claim to be a morally/intellectually/socially perfect human being. And then I fix my imperfections through seemingly trivial actions. I say 'seemingly' because as trivial  as they may be, they are, in fact, the drops that fill "the glass". And that's what matters, because just thinking about something and doing nothing about it is not going to take you or anyone anywhere. It merely proves that you are lying to yourself! Nothing can hinder your development more than self-deceit. But once you recognize your flaws and start doing something, making an effort to achieve self-perfection, you will have successfully opened the door to happiness.. And I truly believe that being happy with oneself is the best feeling in the world!!!
I'm pretty sure this is something you probably have already come to terms with, but it helps to give it a thought every now and then, so that your memory is refreshed in the midst of your extremely busy lives. Also, when you remember something you had forgotten, it makes you even more determined to follow it!!!

Well, this picture gave me something to think about, something that I'd like to incorporate into my life. Hope it did the same for you ;)
